Matt Turner's photograph named best Australian rural photograph of 2019 (March 2020)

Advertiser photographer, Matt Turner’s iconic group photograph of winemakers has been named the best Australian rural photograph for 2019.

Aptly-titled ‘Pick of the Bunch’, Matt Turners winning photo was originally published in the Advertiser’s SA Weekend supplement last April. It subsequently featured in a winning portfolio of photos that saw Matt named RMSA’s SA & NT Rural Photographer of the Year for 2019.

‘Pick of the Bunch’ was selected as the best-of-the-best from this portfolio and entered in the prestigious national Star Prize Awards convened by the Australian Council of Agricultural Journalists earlier this month.

Matt’s winning photo brings him $1,000 in prizemoney and will now compete in the World Star Prize competition, a highlight of the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists Annual Congress to be held in Denmark this June.
