Leigh Radford honoured by Australian Rural Leadership Foundation (Nov 2016)
Prominent South Australian rural journalist and Australian Head of ABC Rural & National Programs, Leigh Radford was recently bestowed the rare honour of being inducted as an Honorary Fellow of the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation in recognition of exceptional service and commitment to rural and regional Australia.
Through his role with ABC Rural for over 30 years and as an active contributor to ARLF initiatives, Leigh has sought to advocate and champion the people and issues of rural Australia. As a long term committee member of Rural Media SA and current Australian Council of Agricultural Journalists delegate to the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists, Leigh has also provided high level leadership to everyone working in rural media.
Leigh Radford is one of Australia's truly iconic rural journalists.
In December, he will be further honoured by Rural Media SA through his induction as one of the few living Rural Media Icons.
The bestowal of this honour on Leigh will occur at RMSA's special December Luncheon.
The Australian rural journalism sector and in particular, Rural Media South Australia is justifiably proud of Leigh Radford's role in furthering the interests of rural media within this country and internationally.
