2016 Telstra & Rural Business Support Rural Media Award Winners Announced (Dec 2016)

From a large number of outstanding entries, ABC Rural journalist Cassandra Steeth and freelance photographer Jacqui Bateman, working for the Stock Journal, have taken home the major prizes at the 2016 Telstra & Rural Business Support Rural Media Awards announced at the Adelaide Showground today.

Cassandra Steeth is the ABC Rural Radio reporter in Mount Gambier. Cassandra had her locally produced regional and rural stories broadcast on Radio National’s The World Today and Off Track and posted them on the Radio National online website.

Jacqui Bateman is an accredited freelance photographer based in the Limestone Coast region of SA. She is a member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photography. She is member of a third-generation farming family at Furner and in addition to her running her own photography business; Jacqui has been a part time contract photographer with the Stock Journal for 10 years.
