AgCommunicators Social Influencer Award

This award is the first of its kind in Australia. It honours outstanding commitment and achievement by an individual in telling the story of primary producers and food production or rural community related initiatives or campaigns through social media.

Examples include, but are not limited to:

  • Promoting primary production’s important role in Australia
  • Highlighting the successes and challenges of being a food producer
  • Building trust in food producers among the Australian community
  • Outlining agriculture’s powerful approach to sustainability

The award can be for a social campaign, a social presence on a single social platform or multiple platforms or building social engagement.

Entrants will need to describe how their efforts:

  • Tell the good news story that is primary production in Australia
  • Drive engagement, particularly with people outside of agriculture
  • Build community
  • Demonstrate a positive shift in understanding, attitude or interest in agriculture

There is also the option to nominate someone who you think fits the criteria above.

This award is not for agency-related campaigns but targeted at individuals or community organisations proactively reaching out to people outside of farming to build relationships and foster transparency and continuous improvement. It recognises that social media enables everyone to be publishers and influence community sentiment and public opinion – you or the person you are nominating must be a resident of South Australia or NT.
