RMSA Members Successful in 2013 SA Media Awards (July 2013)

A number of RMSA members featured in the winners list of the 2013 South Australian Media Awards presented during a function at the National Wine Centre in May.

In a clean sweep for radio, ABC’s Nance Haxton was awarded both the “Best Radio Current Affairs or Feature Award” and the prized “Best Radio Broadcaster Award”. As a regular entrant in the Telstra Rural Media Awards, Nance is well known to most RMSA members.

Tricia Watkinson of the Advertiser took out the “Best Photographer Award”. The judges felt her body of work was exceptional and encapsulated the essence of the stories. In 2011 Tricia took out two of the three Telstra Rural Photographer Awards and was names RMSA’s Telstra Rural Photographer of the Year.

The ABC’s Mike Sexton received the SA Media Award for “Best TV Current Affairs or Feature”. In 2012, Mike took out RMSA’s Telstra Best Rural Television Journalist Award and named the 2012 Telstra Rural Journalist of the Year.
