Rhiannon Koch - 2013 Young Rural & Regional Journalist Professional Development Award recipient (Sept 2013)
The 2013 Young Rural & Regional Journalist Professional Development Award has been presented to Yorke Peninsula Country Times journalist, Rhiannon Koch.
An initiative of the Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Education Foundation and Rural Media SA, the award was initiated to foster high professional standards and provide professional development opportunities for young regionally based journalists.
The winner is provided with the choice to be mentored by senior journalists from ABC Rural, the Advertiser, Channel Seven or the Stock Journal.
As this year's recipient of the Award, Rhiannon chose to be mentored by personnel from the Advertiser during the 2013 Royal Adelaide Show.
In addition to high level mentoring, this year the Advertiser provided Rhiannon with the opportunity to have some of her journalism featured as an exclusive two-page spread in the Saturday edition of the newspaper. This was quite a credit to Rhiannon, as the Saturday edition of the Advertiser has the most extensive statewide readership.
